At the halfway mark of the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai, Land Motorsport’s No. 28 Audi R8 LMS, currently in the hands of Christopher Mies, continues to lead the race.
Mies took over the lead just after an accident for the prior overall leader, Matteo Cressoni, sustained heavy rear end damage in the No. 11 Scuderia Praha Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 at Turn 15.
Cressoni’s car was returned to the pits on a flatbed with more significant damage than it appeared on first glance.
The No. 28 Audi continues out front by roughly a minute and a half over the No. 19 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi, now driven by Michael Meadows.
Konrad Motorsport’s No. 26 Lamborghini Huracán GT3, currently driven by Rolf Ineichen, sits third ahead of the called-into-action backup No. 16 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 for Black Falcon Racing.
Frankie Montecalvo now sits fourth in the car that started from the rear of the field, and also witnessed a storming recent stint from Adam Christodoulou.
The No. 16 car sits ahead of three other previous generation Mercedes-Benzs, with both of the debuting Mercedes AMG-GT3 from Black Falcon having hit issues earlier in the race.
Lechner Racing Middle East’s No. 40 Porsche 991 Cup led the 991 class, 12th overall, currently driven by Hasher Al Maktoum.
