The JBS Australia Lamborghini Gallardo has continued to show the way at Bathurst, with David Russell topping the time charts in Friday’s third practice of the day at Mt. Panorama.
Russell turned a best lap of 2:04.233 in another incident-filled session, although it marked a significant 1.7-second improvement over his pace-setting time from the first session this morning.
The No. 33 Clearwater Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Toni Vilander ended up second, followed by the pair of Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS ultras, which were third and fourth quickest, respectively.
The No. 36 Erebus Racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 completed the top-five overall and in the outright Pro-Am class.
Quickest in the GT3 Am class was the No. 35 NISMO Athlete Global Team Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, with a best time of 2:06.393.
The session saw three red flags, including a crash for the No. 11 M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 of Andy Soucek.
The Bentley sustained suspension and bodywork damage and was brought back to the pits on a flat bed but is expected to be repaired prior to tomorrow’s sessions.
Friday’s fourth and final practice session is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. local.
