Sean Gelael will contest his home round of the GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS at Mandalika next month at the wheel of a Garage 75 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.

The Indonesian racer will campaign the additional entry solo for what will be his first appearance in the championship on May 2-3.

FIA World Endurance Championship regular Gelael, who will be part of the Silver class in Mandalika, is familiar with the 296 GT3 Evo from his campaign in GTWC Europe Endurance Cup with AF Corse as well as in the Asian Le Mans Series.

“I am so happy to finally race at Mandalika,” said Gelael. “It’s like the last piece of a puzzle.

“I have done many things at Mandalika before, from circuit inauguration rides and attending races to driving hot laps and even waving the checkered flag! But I’ve never raced competitively there against some tough and fierce rivals. Now that chance will come.

”This will also be the first time, except for rallying, that I have contested an international car race in front of my beloved Indonesian crowd. So it promises to be a very special moment indeed.”

Garage 75 is set to field the additional car for Gelael alongside its regular Am class 296 GT3 Evo shared by Christian Colombo and local driver David Tjiptobiantoro.
