Thirteen cars are set to start the inaugural round of Radical Cup Europe this weekend in Mugello.

The new one-make prototype racing series is part of a multi-year partnership with Creventic. The five round championship will support Creventic’s 24H Series Europe, beginning this weekend at the Mugello 12H with two 50-minute races.

Radical Cup Europe marks a revival for Radical’s presence in European motorsport, following on from the Radical European Masters championship which ran from 2008 to 2018.

Seven teams will compete in this weekend’s event using Radical’s SR3 XXR prototype.

British racing team RSR will enter three cars, including reigning Radical Cup UK Champion Marcus Littlewood in his No. 3 Radical SR3 XXR entry.

Back-to-back Radical Cup UK Fangio Champion John Macleod will also race with RSR in his No. 14 Radical. Macleod is entering a record-breaking 16th season in Radical Cup competition.

The RSR lineup will be completed by Paul Denning in the No. 25 car.

Cambridgeshire-based team RJ Motorsport will also field three cars this weekend. Jahid-Fazal Karim will compete in the No. 77 Radical, whilst British driver Lowen Stephens will line up on the grid in the No. 64 car.

Husband and wife duo Pascal and Valeria Bachman will share driving duties in the No. 17 Radical. The Swiss pair have been racing since 1987, originally competing in regional rallies. Pascal has also raced in GT4 and GT3 competition in the International GT Open series with teammate Jahid Fazal-Karim.

Three of the seven teams competing at Mugello are part of Radical’s dealer network.

Radical Norway is set to field Erlend Juan Olsen, whilst Radical Romania will compete with countryman Victor Ionescu in the No. 7 Radical.

Radical Nederland will compete with two Dutch drivers: Eddie van Dam in the No. 33 Radical SR3 XXR and Greaham Hofmans in his No. 2 machine.

STEP Motorsport will field the only other two driver car on the grid. Radical Cup Scandinavia champions Sebastian Schou and Morten Strømsted will share driving duties.

A further two entries come from Team RaceStreaming. Italian Diego d’Ambra will drive the No. 44 Radical with teammate Jess Frandsen from Denmark racing the No. 55 car.

The weekend will start with optional CR Track Day sessions to give drivers and teams extra track time. This will be followed by free practice and qualifying on Friday.

Race 1 will commence on Saturday, with Race 2 rounding out the weekend on Sunday.
