Toksport WRT has parted ways with Christian Engelhart ahead of this weekend’s DTM round at the Lausitzring.

The German squad confirmed in a post on social media that team and driver “mutually decided” not to continue their cooperation for the remainder of the season.

The 36-year-old German joined Toksport’s two-car Porsche effort this season after debuting in the final two rounds of the 2022 season with SSR Performance.

He led a team 1-2 by beating stablemate Tim Heinemann to victory in the Sunday race at Oschersleben and recorded one further points finish with twelfth place in Race 2 at Zandvoort.

Engelhart retired from the first race at the Nürburgring, sliding and crashing his No. 99 Porsche 911 GT3 R into fellow Porsche driver Ayhancan Guven at Turn 1 under wet conditions.

The collision inflicted heavy damage to both cars, which caused both drivers to miss the Sunday race.

The team has yet to confirm a replacement driver. It currently sits sixth in the teams’ standings with 82 points.
