Mercedes-AMG has announced it will head into this year’s DTM season with a four-car assault, opting against making any changes to its driver roster.

The German marque revealed on Tuesday that it will entrust its quartet of Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos to the same drivers as last year, with Maro Engel, Jules Gounon, Lucas Auer and Tom Kalender, as it bids for a first drivers’ title in five years.

Engel and Gounon stick with Winward Racing, with their cars to be run under the respective banners ‘Mercedes-AMG Team RAVENOL’ and ‘Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER’, while Auer and Kalender remain at Team Landgraf.

The livery of each car will be revealed at a later date.

“The DTM is a special platform – and has been for over 40 years,” said head of Mercedes-AMG motorsport Christopher Sagemuller.

“With almost 550 race entries and 16 manufacturers’ titles, we are the most successful brand in the DTM. We are very proud of that.

“After winning the drivers’ title in 2021, our clear goal is to bring the championship back to Affalterbach. With two runner-up finishes in recent years, we have come very close twice.

“After last year’s disappointing end to the season, it was important for us to seek open and constructive dialogue with the ADAC. For 2026, we would like to see conditions that are transparent and reliable for all involved, so that sporting competition remains the focus until the very end.”

Auer finished the 2025 season as best of the Mercedes-AMG drivers in second overall with two wins, narrowly missing out on the title to Porsche driver Ayhancan Guven in a thrilling Hockenheim finale, while Engel ended up third.

Gounon and teenage prospect Kalender, meanwhile, finished ninth and 21st respectively in their first full DTM seasons.

Despite missing out on the drivers’ title, which it last won in 2021 with Maxi Goetz, Mercedes-AMG did beat Porsche to the manufacturers’ prize last year.

The new DTM season is scheduled to begin at the Red Bull Ring on April 24-26.
