Audi will field three factory-supported entries for this year’s Nürburgring 24, naming 12 factory drivers to defend its crown in the Eifel endurance classic.
The newly named Audi Sport Team Scherer PHX team, a collaboration between Phoenix Racing and partner Scherer, has retained 2022 winner Frederic Vervisch in a lineup that is completed by fellow factory aces Mattia Drudi and Ricardo Feller as well as Dennis Lind.
Lind previously raced a Pro-class Team WRT Audi at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2021 but will be making his debut at the N24.
After a one-year absence, 2017 winner Audi Sport Team Land returns to the event with a single, factory-supported entry.
Two-time winners Christopher Haase and Christopher Mies join forces with Patric Niederhauser, with the Land entry notably the only car in Audi’s factory stable not to feature a four-driver lineup.
Audi Sport Team Car Collection, meanwhile, has a lineup comprised of Audi’s more junior factory drivers.
Max Hofer, who was announced to be joining the Audi roster last month, will team up with Luca Engstler, Gilles Magnus and Dennis Marschall.
“With our experienced partners at our side, we are in a strong position for the race again this year,” said Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
“After taking our sixth overall victory last year, we are striving to add another chapter to our success story at the Green Hell and continue to prove the capabilities of the Audi R8 LMS.”
