Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus will skip this year’s Nürburgring 24, ending a run of eight consecutive appearances in the Eifel enduro for the American manufacturer.

SCG team principal Luca Ciancetti confirmed that the Podium Advanced Technologies-run factory squad is “pausing” its N24 program with the Glickenhaus SCG 004C but has not ruled out returning in the future.

It’s understood that the Glickenhaus LMH program in the FIA World Endurance Championship is taking precedence from resource and personnel standpoints.

The N24 takes place on May 20-21, in between the WEC 6 Hours of Spa in late April and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in mid-June. Last year SCG and Podium tackled both 24-hour races within two weeks of each other.

Glickenhaus normally competes in the SP-X category at the Nürburgring because its GT cars are not FIA GT3 homologated, but it has often mixed with the top-category GT3 runners and even claimed a shock overall pole in 2017.

“There is a big focus on the WEC program,” Ciancetti told Sportscar365.

“We had to focus our racing budget on the WEC. We are pausing the Nürburgring program but it’s for sure not ended.

“There is a clear willingness from Jim to come back in 2024, maybe with more than one car.

“We need to understand what will happen with the Nürburgring 24 program. We will decide what to do.”

Glickenhaus gave its current N24 car, the SCG 004C, its event debut in 2020 as the replacement for the 2017 pole-sitting SCG SCG 003C.

A Glickenhaus has appeared in every N24 since 2015, running under the SCG factory team banner at all but one of those. Swiss team Traum Motorsport competed in 2017.

“We are dealing with many sponsors and different financial options,” said Ciancetti. “We have to understand what will be realistic and what will happen. Then we will decide.

“Our love story with the Nürburgring is not finished.”
