Bernhard, Bergmeister to Race Final Cayman Clubsport in NLS7

Porsche legends Timo Bernhard and Joerg Bergmeister will come out of retirement to race in this weekend’s Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie round, to help close out the chapter of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Bernhard and Bergmeister, who are both now Porsche brand ambassadors, will be at the wheel of the very last Cayman Clubsport produced as a race car for NLS7 on Saturday, run by Bernhard’s Team 75 operation.

The GT4-spec car will be retired following the six-hour ADAC Ruhr Cup to the Porsche Museum collection in Stuttgart.

Both Bernhard, a ten-time overall winner in NLS/VLN competition, and Bergmeister, are also Nordschleife track record holders.

The German driver famously piloted the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo to an all-time track record of 5:19.546 in 2018, while Bergmeister has set multiple category records in Porsche machinery, including a manual-transmission production car record of 6:56.294 in a Porsche 911 GT3 last year.

The 718 Cayman is being replaced by the Porsche 911 GT4 R worldwide GT4 competition next year.
