TDS Racing will return to a two-car IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship effort for the first time in three years, confirming its pair of driver lineups in the LMP2 class.

The French squad will continue with Tobi Lutke and Mathias Beche in the No. 11 Oreca 07 Gibson, with Stephen Thomas returning after a year away racing in the European Le Mans Series. Thomas will pair up with Scott Huffaker in the No. 29 entry.

Sami Meguetounif (No. 11) and David Heinemeier Hansson (No. 29) will complete the team’s lineups for the Michelin Endurance Cup races.

Thomas, Meguetounif and Huffaker were in title contention in the ELMS LMP2 Pro/Am class title and won together at Silverstone.

The Xavier Combet-led team, which has been a full season entrant since 2023, made its its 40th IMSA start at this year’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans.

“2027 marks an exciting new chapter for TDS Racing,” said Combet. “Expanding to a two-car program in IMSA reflects both our ambition and our long-term commitment to the championship.

“We are proud to continue our journey with Tobi, David and Mathias, while welcoming Steven back alongside Scott, as well as Sami, who will be making his IMSA debut.

“We have built something strong over the past seasons, and our goal is clear: to keep pushing forward, fight at the front, and compete for victories and championships.”

Thomas appeared to end his full-time driving career on a high note when he, Mikkel Jensen and Hunter McElrea scored a double back-to-back set of wins at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Motul Petit Le Mans in 2024 and 2025, which resulted in consecutive Michelin Endurance Cup titles for the drivers and team.

TDS has become the first official confirmed entry in the LMP2 class for next year, which has been rumored to grow in size amid the expected reduced grid in GTP following the withdrawal of Acura from the top class.

IMSA President John Doonan previously told Sportscar365 that he envisions maintaining 50/50 split between prototypes and GT cars.
