Jeroen Bleekemolen has been drafted in to replace Jamie Green at Phoenix Racing for this weekend’s Nürburgring 24.
The Dutchman will share Phoenix’s No. 5 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo with Frank Stippler, Kim-Luis Schramm and Vincent Kolb in the Nordschleife enduro, making his first start with the team since the 2003 edition of the N24.
Bleekemolen formed part of the Keating Motorsports lineup that initially won the GTE-Am class in last weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans before the team’s Ford GT was disqualified.
He’ll replace Green, who is currently recovering from appendicitis which also forced him to miss the DTM race at Misano earlier in the month.
“With Jeroen, we were able to find a good replacement for Jamie, who we wish all the best and a quick recovery from his appendectomy,” commented Phoenix’s team boss Ernst Moser.
On-track action for the N24 will get underway with Free Practice on Thursday.
