Konrad Motorsport has secured additional factory support from Lamborghini and will enter a Huracan GT3 EVO2 in this year’s Nürburgring 24 that will be driven by works drivers Christian Engelhart and Maximilian Paul alongside Nordschleife expert Pavel Lefterov.
While Paul has been part of Konrad’s N24 lineup for the past two years, finishing third in the SP9 Pro-Am class on each occasion, Engelhart is now returning to the squad that he first drove for during his Porsche Supercup days in 2011.
Engelhart finished fourth in last year’s contest when he was part of ABT’s Huracan crew.
Lefterov, meanwhile, also has previous connections to Konrad having not only contested last year’s N24 with the team but also won the Prototype Cup Germany title with the squad last season at the wheel of an Ligier JS P320 Nissan.
“I’m very pleased that we’re working more closely with Lamborghini again,” said team boss Franz Konrad.
“I’m really proud of our driver lineup. We’ve known each other for years and, in my opinion, we can finish in the top three. But anyone who knows me knows that I always want to win.”
Paul and Engelhart will tackle this weekend’s opening round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie at the wheel of a Huracan GT3 EVO but will switch to the newer EVO2 model thereafter.
