SUPER GT has revealed a 43-car entry list for the 2025 season, confirming a 15-car field in the top GT500 class and 28 cars in GT300.

The figure for GT500 remains unchanged from last year, but the lower GT300 division’s car count increases by one with new Porsche entrant Seven x Seven Racing joining and another new outfit, MKS Racing, appearing in place of Team Studie.

Sportscar365 previously reported that Studie, which was the sole BMW representative in the field, was planning to sit out this year’s SUPER GT campaign in favor of a return to GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS competition.

That was confirmed shortly after the reveal of the entry list by Studie boss Yasuaki ‘Bob’ Suzuki, who wrote on his blog that he was unsure whether the team would be merely taking a break in 2025 or withdrawing from the series entirely.

MKS Racing, a new project being overseen by ex-Yogibo Racing team director Misato Haga, takes over the No. 7 used by Team Studie, but has no confirmed drivers, car or tire maker named on the entry list.

Other GT300 teams that had yet to confirm their plans include Team Mach, which returns with its usual Toyota GR86 Mother Chassis, and reigning champion squad JLOC, which will again enter two Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVOs.

Team Mach has yet to announce drivers for the new season, although it will have at least one newcomer with Fujinami departing to drive for his own team.

JLOC meanwhile retains unchanged driver lineups across both cars, with reigning champions Takashi Kogure and Yuya Motojima in the No. 88 car and Natsu Sakaguchi and Kosuke Matsuura sharing the sister No. 87 car.

R’Qs Motor Sports confirmed plans to continue with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo on Sunday, with Super Taikyu racer Yuma Shoji coming on board as fourth driver.

Elsewhere, Yu Kanamaru has been named as the third driver for the No. 56 Kondo Racing Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, having driven for the team alongside regulars Joao Paulo de Oliveira and Kohei Hirate in this month’s GT300 test at Fuji Speedway.

PONOS Racing’s Ferrari 296 GT3 has no confirmed drivers or tire maker, but the team is expected to continue with its 2024 pairing of Kei Cozzolino and Ferrari factory driver Lilou Wadoux, while switching to Dunlop tires.

The entry list does however confirm Roberto Merhi stays with the renamed Velorex (Team LeMans) Ferrari squad alongside Yoshiaki Katayama, as expected.

There are no surprises in the GT500 portion of the entry list, with Toyota, Honda and Nissan having all announced their plans in advance.

It means there will again be six Toyota GR Supras going up against five Honda Civic Type R-GTs and a quartet of Nissan Z NISMOs, with Bridgestone supplying 12 of the 15 cars in the top class, Yokohama two and Dunlop one.

In GT300, Yokohama remains the dominant tire supplier with 15 cars, against six for Dunlop (including PONOS), four for Bridgestone and just two for Michelin, pending confirmation of which tire MKS Racing will use.
