Kale Buhl and Logan Adams split the Mustang Cup USA event at Barber Motorsports Park, claiming wins in the Miles and Parnelli Cups, respectively, in the series’ first weekend supporting the NTT IndyCar Series.

Buhl, driving the No. 8 Capladi Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R, took over the points lead of the Miles Cup after teammate Adams’ Mustang slowed in the closing stages of Friday’s race while in the overall lead.

He took the win by 3.289 seconds over Adams, with Craig Capaldi making it a Capaldi Racing sweep of the top three positions, and double victory, with Capaldi victorious in the Dark Horse Legends class.

Craig Capaldi swept the weekend in DHL, scoring a second place overall finish in Saturday’s Parnelli Cup race, 30 seconds behind Adams, who recovered from his Race 1 misfortunes to return to victory lane.

Buhl finished the 40-minute race on Saturday in third overall, ahead of McCumbee McAleer Racing’s Carlton MacFarlane and Harris Levitas, who completed the overall top-five.

A total of 12 entries took part in the weekend, with Paolo Salvatore’s Mustang Cup Classic entry not making the trip to the Leeds, Ala. circuit.

Rounds 3 of the season will take place on May 7-9 at Circuit of The Americas.
