A six-event 2021 calendar for the new GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS series has been announced including two trips to Bathurst.
The fresh-faced championship is a partnership between Australian Racing Group and SRO Motorsports Group, with the series formerly known as Australian GT joining the successful GT World Challenge formula that already operates in Europe, America and Asia.
Five sprint rounds and a single two-driver endurance event feature on the schedule.
The location and date of round four are to be announced, while the endurance event will be held as part of ARG’s Bathurst International which does not yet have a date.
Phillip Island kicks off the season on Feb. 20-21, followed by a sprint round on the weekend of the Bathurst 6 Hour at Mount Panorama on Apr. 3-4.
GTWC Australia supports Virgin Australia Supercars at The Bend Motorsport Park on May. 8-9, followed by round four and the final sprint event at Sandown on Sep. 11-12.
The endurance race at Bathurst, which is also the sole round of the Motorsport Australia Endurance Championship, completes the year.
GTWC Australia will open the global GT World Challenge powered by AWS schedule which comprises of 29 events across the four regional GT3 championships.
SRO last week announced the dates for GTWC Asia while Valencia was recently confirmed as the location of the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup season finale.
