Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS will add a round at New Zealand’s Hampton Downs Motorsport Park as its finale for the 2025 season.
Confirmed on Friday during SRO Motorsports Group’s annual press conference ahead of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, the Fanatec GT Australia calendar will feature six rounds, with the venue and exact date for round three yet to be determined.
New to the calendar is a season finale at Hampton Downs, located in New Zealand.
It marks the first time the series has ventured outside of Australia since it fell under the Fanatec GT banner in 2021.
Opened in 2009, the 2.361-mile circuit is owned by British-born entrepreneur and racer Tony Quinn, who most notably has several starts in the Bathurst 12 Hour to his name, teaming up with the likes of Kevin Estre and Shane van Gisbergen.
Phillip Island again hosts the season opener, while Sydney Motorsport Park is moved up from its current October slot to host the second round in May.
Queensland Raceway has retained its early August slot, while The Bend Motorsport Park has moved from an early summer spot on the schedule to early September instead.
Notably, Bathurst’s Mount Panorama, which hosts this year’s Fanatec GT Australia finale, does not currently feature on the schedule.
“We have worked closely with the circuits and other stakeholders, including Supercars and Motorsport Australia, to get our calendars confirmed in preparation for the global announcement here at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa,” said SRO Motorsports Australia CEO Ben McMillan.
“We are very excited by the addition of Hampton Downs to the 2025 calendar.
“We are pleased to confirm that SRO Australia will offer a substantial contribution towards logistic and freight costs for the event.”
