McLaren 720S GT3 to Make Customer Debut at Albert Park

The McLaren 720S GT3 will make its customer racing debut next week in the Australian GT Championship opener at Albert Park, Melbourne.

Melbourne-based 59Racing will become the first McLaren customer to run the car which made its debut in a factory entry at the Gulf 12 Hours in December.

The team will campaign the full Australian GT season with a 720S GT3 piloted by Fraser Ross and a 570S GT4 driven by Ryan Simpson.

It gets underway at Albert Park on March 14-17 in support for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

“It is really great to welcome another new customer team to the McLaren Customer Racing family, with the launch of 59Racing, who will be the first of our teams to take to the track in competition with the 720S GT3,” commented McLaren Automotive Motorsport Director Dan Walmsley.

“Premiering as part of the Formula 1 race activity, with 59Racing running in their home race, is a fantastic platform for the team and McLaren alike.
