Daniel Serra and Kyle Marcelli have claimed poles for this weekend’s Blancpain GT World Challenge America rounds at Road America.

Serra reeled off a 2:04.558 in the championship-leading No. 61 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 to grab pole for Race 1, a hefty 1.871 seconds quicker than the No. 58 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Patrick Long, who qualified second.

The pair of K-PAX Racing Bentley Continental GT3s were third and fourth, qualified by Rodrigo Baptista and Andy Soucek, respectively.

Soucek’s initial flying lap, that put him atop the time charts at the time, was deleted due to the Spaniard exceeding track limits.

Mike Hedlund claimed GT3 Pro-Am class pole, thanks to a 2:07.604 in his No. 42 RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo.

Hedlund’s time was 0.361 seconds faster than Till Bechtolsheimer in the No. 5 Gradient Racing Acura, with Anthony Imperato third in the No. 91 Wright Porsche.

Marcelli Grabs Overall Pole for Race 2

Pro-Am entrant Racers Edge Motorsports will start from overall pole in Sunday’s Race 2, thanks to a 2:05.469 set by Kyle Marcelli, in an all-Acura front row.

Marcelli edged out the No. 43 RealTime Acura of Dane Cameron by 0.075 seconds.

Ryan Dalziel and Matt Campbell qualified third and fourth for DXDT Racing and Wright, respectively, with Toni Vilander relegated to a fifth place overall start in his R. Ferri Ferrari.

Vilander was the quickest Pro class car in the session, with Alvaro Parente sixth overall in the leading K-PAX Bentley.

The session was red-flagged, and the clock stopped, with less than seven minutes to go when Martin Fuentes beached his No. 7 Squadra Corse Garage Italia Ferrari in Turn 14.

Vilander was the only car that managed to improve his time once track action resumed.

The first 90-minute race of the weekend gets underway this afternoon at 2:20 p.m. CT, with Race 2 set for Sunday at 2:15 p.m. with live coverage on CBS Sports Network.
