Walkenhorst Motorsport led the way in qualifying for the Total 24 Hours of Spa on Thursday evening and leads the 20-car contingent going into Friday’s Super Pole.
The No. 34 BMW M6 GT3 set a combined time of 2:19.155 after lap times from Tom Blomqvist, Philipp Eng and Christian Krognes.
The 20 fastest cars will battle for the top grid positions in Super Pole on Friday evening, while grid positions 21 back have now been locked in.
Audi Sport Team Sainteloc was second fastest ahead of the Nos. 2 and 1 Audi Sport Team WRT cars and Montaplast by Land Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3.
Bentley Team M-Sport had the sixth best combined time ahead of the Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon car and Team75 Bernhard Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Class poles have been set with Emil Frey Jaguar Racing on top in the Silver Cup with the Jaguar G3 driven by Mikael Grenier, Adrian Zaugg and Alex Fontana, provisionally starting 23rd overall.
Ram Racing led the way in the Pro-Am Cup with the No. 49 Mercedes driven by Felix Rosenqvist, Euan Hankey, Salih Yoluc and Darren Burke, meanwhile.
Am Cup pole went to Garage 59’s No. 188 McLaren 650S GT3 and drivers Andrew Watson, Chris Goodwin, Alexander West and Chris Harris.
Several high-profile cars, including both of Strakka Racing’s Pro Cup entries and the 2018-spec Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, failed to make it through to Super Pole.
The four 15-minute sessions had a few red flag periods, including for a spin by Riccardo Patrese and Jake Dennis’ R-Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 dropping fluid on track at Eau Rouge.
Night Practice will get underway at 10:30 p.m. local time.
