Team WRT and Kessel Racing are among the teams bringing additional entries to the British GT Championship’s annual excursion to Spa-Francorchamps this weekend, in the series’ largest grid of the season.
Several European teams have entered cars in both GT3 and GT4 classes, many of which are taking advantage of the two one-hour races as practice for the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
ENTRY LIST: Spa-Francorchamps
Stuart Leonard and Alain Ferte will join the grid supported by WRT, in the first time an Audi R8 LMS has participated in the series this year.
Kessel Racing meanwhile brings a Ferrari 488 GT3 driven by Piti Bhirombakdi and Carlo van Dam, while Kenneth Heyer and Patrick Assenheimer will drive a Mercedes-AMG GT3 run by Kornely Motorsport.
Rounding out the 14-strong GT3 field is a third car from Barwell Motorsport for Adrian Amstutz and Patrick Kujala, strong runners in the Blancpain GT Series Pro-Am Cup this season.
Neither of the Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT3s are listed on the provisional entry list.
The headline in GT4 is the return of Ebor GT, which will have Matty Graham and Charlie Fagg behind the wheel of its Maserati GT MC GT4.
Graham tested the car pre-season, ahead of a possible entry for Oulton Park, but entered the first few rounds with In2Racing instead.
Graham’s departure sees him replaced by Jessie Anttila at In2Racing for Spa, while Jacques Duyver will be the sole driver in the team’s other McLaren 570S GT4.
Autoaid/RCIB Insurance Racing is another team with changes to its lineup as Jake Giddings replaces Sam Webster. Adam Hatfield and Benjamin Wallace will drive the team’s sister Ginetta G55 GT4.
Track action at Spa gets underway on Friday, with two 60-minute races on Saturday.
