SRO Motorsports Group and Pirelli are extending their agreement for the Italian company to supply tires to the GT racing organization’s championships until the end of 2028.

The two parties on Sunday announced that they are finalizing a five-year deal that will see Pirelli continue to provide tires to the four regional Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS competitions in Europe, America, Asia and Australia.

It also covers the GT4 European Series powered by Rafa Racing Club and the Fanatec GT2 European Series. The latter will have a ‘powered by Pirelli’ suffix starting in 2024.

SRO stated that the agreement will cover its “series competing across the globe”, however the Intercontinental GT Challenge will have some form of tire diversity next year with the Nürburgring 24 being added to the schedule.

“Success in motor racing requires the very best partners and, in Pirelli, we have exactly that,” said SRO founder and CEO Stephane Ratel.

“For the past decade, they have provided a world-class product to our teams, while also adding considerable commercial and technical support to our series and one-off events around the globe.

“It was natural, therefore, that we should extend our cooperation by a further five years.”

Pirelli is working on further evolutions to its GT racing tire products and recently held a development test at Barcelona to explore potential options for GT3, GT2 and GT4.

Its latest product, the Pirelli P Zero DHF, was gradually introduced to SRO’s different GT3 championships from the beginning of last year.

The company’s ongoing partnership with SRO started with its supply of the GTWC Europe Endurance Cup in 2013.

“It is a source of great satisfaction for us to continue to provide such exciting and increasingly popular championships,” said Pirelli motorsport director Mario Isola.

“In these years of collaboration with SRO, we have supported the evolution of cars and race formats around the world.

“We will reinforce this commitment over the next five years, confirming the spirit that has always distinguished us and associated us with the organizer: a strong focus on customer and fan satisfaction.”
