Chouest Povoledo Racing will focus on a GT America powered by AWS-only program this year, with Ross Chouest making a bid for the SR03 championship title.

Chouest will continue at the wheel of his Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R for a second consecutive season in SRO America competition, although will not return to GT World Challenge America powered by AWS amid the series’ format change to single three-hour feature races.

It is expected to be the only Pratt Miller-built Corvette entry in SRO America this year, with DXDT Racing understood to not be continuing in the series.

FIA Bronze-rated driver Chouest enjoyed a breakout season in GT America last year, claiming overall wins at Road America, Barber Motorsports Park and Indianapolis Motor Speedway en route to a third place finish in the drivers’ standings.

“We chose the Corvette Z06 GT3.R because we knew it could win, and after three victories last season, I think we are on to something,” said team principal Aaron Povoledo.

“We are extremely grateful to the team over at GM and their motorsports division for supporting what we are trying to achieve.

“I also want to thank Greg Gill, Staci Langham, and the whole crew at SRO America for giving us a great place to race and helping it all happen.”

The GT America season begins at Sonoma Raceway on March 27-29.
