After sweeping the weekend on the streets of Long Beach, Jason Daskalos has momentum on his side entering this weekend’s pair of GT America powered by AWS rounds at Sebring International Raceway.
Daskalos, who retook the SRO3 class points lead with his dominant run in Southern California, is one of 18 cars entered for the pair of 40-minute single-driver sprint races at Sebring, home of the 12-hour sports car classic.
It is one of ten GT3-spec cars entered in SRO3, including DXDT Racing’s Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, which is set for its SRO worldwide competition debut next weekend with Scott Smithson in GT America.
Other entries include the continuation of Mirco Schultis’ Mishumotors program with his Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R following a solid outing in Long Beach.
Daskalos heads to Sebring with a seven-point lead over SKI Autosports driver Johnny O’Connell, who will be the lone Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II representative, with GMG Racing’s James Sofronas not entered for Sebring.
The GT2 class will see only the pair of TPC Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2s for Alan Grossberg and points leader Aaron Farhadi, with GMG’s two cars, as well as the Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT2 from Long Beach also not making the trip to Florida.
Six cars, meanwhile, are set to do battle in GT4, bolstered by newcomer Farhan Siddiqi in the No. 95 FASTMD Racing with Remstar Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4.
Track action kicks off with a Bronze test session on Friday morning, followed by two practice sessions, qualifying on Saturday morning and the first of two race later that afternoon at 12:55 p.m. EDT.
Race 2 takes the green flag Sunday at 8:40 a.m. EDT, with both races streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube page and on Twitch.
