Jason Daskalos held on to sweep the weekend with a second consecutive GT America powered by AWS win on the streets of Long Beach for CRP Racing.
After starting on the pole, Daskalos’ lead came under threat before the halfway mark of the 40-minute sprint race, as the gap to James Sofronas and Johnny O’Connell behind closed down through traffic.
The CRP driver fended off multiple attacks, including late pressure from Sofronas to finish just 0.847 seconds ahead of the No. 14 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
O’Connell’s No. 3 SKI Autosports Audi completed the SRO3 class podium, ahead of Justin Rothberg and Mirco Schultis who rounded out the top-five.
Kyle Washington initially drove his way into second from fourth on the grid, but was handed a drive-through penalty for a start procedure violation, dropping him down the order and out of contention.
GT2 saw Dan Knox complete a perfect weekend in his No. 10 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT2 after leading every lap of the race, like he did in Race 1.
TPC Racing’s Aaron Farhadi came home in second aboard his No. 127 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 ,with Brent Holden’s GMG Mercedes-AMG in third.
Isaac Sherman also doubled-up in Long Beach in GT4, driving his No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport comfortably to victory lane.
Stablemate Robb Holland unexpectedly dove to pit lane with an early puncture while running second in class, leaving Sherman to run uncontested at the head of the GT4 field.
He crossed the finish line with a 12.601-second advantage over Samatha Tan’s No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4 in second.
Tan fended off a hard-charging charging Gray Newell who was forced to settle for third for Heart of Racing Team.
