This weekend’s GT America powered by AWS rounds at Road America will be contested exclusively by SRO3-class GT3 machinery, with GT2 and GT4 teams not currently entered for the pair of 40-minute single-driver sprint races.
The seven-car entry list features a diverse grid of five GT3 manufacturers and six different generations of machinery.
Jason Bell is set for his second consecutive weekend back in GT America, aboard his No. 2 Racers Edge Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.
FASTMD Racing with Remstar, meanwhile, has also returned to action, but this time with it Audi R8 LMS GT3 for driver Farhan Siddiqi.
Siddiqi previously contested the series with a Audi R8 LMS GT4 car that ran in an invitational class.
Turner Motorsport’s Justin Rothberg extended his championship lead over Kyle Washington, of GMG Racing, to 25 points following his double win in the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO at Virginia International Raceway.
It came in a race that saw fourth and third place finishes for Washington’s No. 32 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Ross Chouest, meanwhile, has come under attack from Memo Gidley, who made a mid-season debut in the No. 56 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, which sees Gidley now only two points away from the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
The seventh competitor entered for this weekend, Blake McDonald in the No. 11 DXDT Racing Corvette, is only expected to contest the practice and qualifying sessions in preparation for his GT World Challenge America powered by AWS campaign this weekend.
Two eligible test sessions on Thursday is followed by a Paid Bronze Test and the first official practice session for GT America competitors that afternoon.
Second practice is on tap for Friday, with qualifying on Saturday morning. Race 1 takes the green flag at 1:10 p.m. CST and Race 2 on Sunday at 9:15 a.m., both of which will be streamed live on GT World’s YouTube channel and on Twitch.
