Justin Rothberg made a late-session improvement to go quickest in the second and final GT America powered by AWS practice session at Circuit of The Americas.

Rothberg, in the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3, bumped Practice 1 pace-setter George Kurtz by setting a 2:05.921 lap time, which was nearly four-tenths clear of the CrowdStrike by Riley driver, who ended up second.

However, Rothberg’s time was still 0.117 seconds slower than Kurtz’s best time from the morning, which held as quickest of the day.

Jason Daskalos ended the second session in third in his No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG.

James Sofronas, who did not take part in the morning session, was fourth quickest, followed by the similarly prepared Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II from Johnny O’Connell, who completed the top-five for SKI Autosports.

GT2’s lone runner Alan Grossberg cranked out a 2:15.383 lap in his No. 102 TPC Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 to again be several seconds clear of the GT4 competitors.

Curt Swearingin, meanwhile, was again quickest in GT4, thanks to a 2:17.298 lap in his No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Qualifying is set for 8 a.m. CDT on Saturday, followed by Race 1 of the weekend at 3:25 p.m., which will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
