Pirelli GT4 America is set for a bumper grid to kick off its season this weekend at Sonoma Raceway, with 31 cars entered.
The entry list for Rounds 1 and 2 largely features programs that have already been confirmed, either during SRO America’s initial participants list released earlier this month, or with subsequent announcements in the weeks’ since.
Six different GT4 manufacturers are represented across the three categories, which sees at least one driver in each class not return to defend their titles.
Last year’s Silver class champions Kenton Koch and Kevin Boehm have been split up, with Bohem remaining in Silver but moving to Auto Technic Racing with new co-driver Francis Selldorff in the No. 51 BMW M4 GT4 EVO.
Koch, who was voted one of Sportscar365’s top ten drivers in worldwide competition last year, moves to Pro-Am but remains with Random Vandals Racing with new co-driver Sam Craven, who along with Josh Green won the class title last year.
Green, meanwhile, steps up to Silver with Bruno Colombo in the Paul Sparta-led squad’s second entry, with an all-new lineup of Judson Holt and Denny Stripling in Am, departing from Fast Track Racing.
Auto Technic will again field a second BMW, marking the return of former series champion Stevan McAleer with Roland Krainz.
With 2025 Am class co-champion Charlie Postins retiring, BimmerWorld team owner/driver James Clay will team up with team veteran James Walker Jr. making the switch from Pro-Am.
BimmerWorld’s second BMW M4 GT4 EVO, meanwhile, will be driven by Tyler McQuarrie and Michael Petramalo in Pro-Am.
Other BMWs include entries for both Stephen Cameron Racing (Jonathan Perichon/Gregory Liefooghe) and Flying Lizard Motorsports (Zach Lumsden/Kris Wilson) in Pro-Am and Am, respectively.
Lucas and Joseph Catania will also return to the wheel of their Rigid Speed Company BMW, also in Am.
Porsche powerhouse ACI Motorsports expands into a four-car operation, while also fielding a BMW for the first time for brothers Alex and Michael Garcia in Am.
Former Porsche Carrera Cup North America front runners Yves Baltas and Jimmy Llibre have joined forces for ACI’s first-ever Silver class effort, while 2025 Carrera Cup champion and Porsche Motorsport North America Selected Driver Ryan Yardley is set for a parallel program in GT4 America with Damir Hot in a second ACI entry.
Yardley will also take part in his first season of GT World Challenge America powered by AWS in a Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo.
Ross Poole and Muzaffar Gafurov round out ACI’s GT4 America efforts with an Am class Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport entry.
Other Porsches on the grid include three Kellymoss cars, (Ashley Freiberg/Loni Unser), (Eric Filguerias/Tom Kopczynski) and (Erika Hoffmann/Jack Parriott), the former in Silver and two latter in Pro-Am.
Other Porsches in the field include the return of Matt Travis to Nolasport’s Pro-Am effort with Matheus Leist and 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS champion Luca Mars paired with Spencer Pumpelly in a RS1 entry.
The latest-generation Ford Mustang GT4 will be represented in SRO America for the first time this year with entries from TechSport Racing (Frankie Muniz/Tyler Stone), McCumbee McAleer Racing (Jenson Altzman/Zachry Lee) and LAP Motorsports (Clayton Williams/Casey Moyer).
There will also be three Mercedes-AMG GT4s on the grid in Sonoma, thanks to an expanded two-car effort from Dome Motorsport, which sees Laura Hayes team up with Eddie Kileen and Marc Miller paired with Allen Patten.
Off Leash Motorsports will make its series debut with former series champion Harry Gottsacker and Kevin Clifford.
RAFA Racing Team will be a Silver class title contender with 2025 GR Cup North America champion Westin Workman making his series debut with Tyler Gonzalez in a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, while three-time Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil champion Werner Neugebauer will team up with Chris Spada in a Pro-Am entry.
Fan favorite Ryan Eversley will return to full season competition in Precision Racing LA’s Toyota with Karl Forman in Pro-Am.
Blackdog Racing, which contended for the Pro-Am title last year, returns with an unchanged lineup of Tony Gaples and Michael Cooper, while OGH Motorsports’ Sean Gibbons and Sam Owen will also run a McLaren Artura GT4.
Advance Motorsports, meanwhile, will make its series debut with Austin Jurs paired up with former race winner Jonathan Neudorf for this weekend, with an eye towards a season-long campaign alongside the 18-year-old.
While teams have testing opportunities on Wednesday, a pair of practice sessions will officially kick off track activities on Thursday, followed by qualifying and Race 1 (2 p.m. PST/5 p.m. EST) on Friday.
Race 2 gets the green flag on Saturday at 1 p.m. PST/4 p.m. EST. Both 60-minute sprints will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch, as well as being part of next weekend’s broadcast on FS1.
