ACI Motorsports will have a re-focused effort in SRO America competition this year, with the Chattanooga-based team fielding a single Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in Pirelli GT4 America, alongside a second car in GT America powered by AWS.
The team, which made its SRO America debut with a Porsche 911 GT3 R in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, as well as multiple GT4 America entries, has scaled back to a single effort around team owner/driver Curt Swearingin.
Swearingin will take part in both GT4 America and GT America this year, and will be joined by Porsche North America Selected Driver Kay van Berlo in the two-driver, 60-minute races.
It will mark Van Berlo’s second consecutive season with the team.
“[I’m] thrilled to continue with Curt and ACI Motorsports for another season in GT4 America,” he said.
“Curt’s remarkable growth as a driver throughout last year, exemplified by his stellar qualifying lap in Dubai earlier this year, fills me with confidence for the season ahead.
“Additionally, as a team, we’ve made significant strides forward throughout last year and the winter, and I’m eager to see where our collective efforts place us this year.”
Swearingin added: “This is the busiest season I’ve ever had – I’ll be on track more than ever before and I’m really looking forward to testing myself and pushing the limits this season.
“The whole team is motivated, determined, and pulling together – the time we’ve put in over the off-season should pay off and hopefully we’ll find ourselves in a great position this season to be competitive.
”SRO is really a fantastic environment and series; we’re really grateful for the opportunity to participate and contribute with their organization and hope to only add to the great thing they have going.”
Both the GT4 America and GT America seasons kick off this weekend at Sonoma Raceway.
