WR Aston Loses Race 2 Pro-Am Win Due to Technical Infraction

The No. 59 WR Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Paul Terry and Valentin Hasse-Clot have lost their Pro-Am class victory and second place overall finish in the Pirelli GT4 America season-ending round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway due to a technical infringement.

Announced on Saturday afternoon — the day after Race 2 — the team’s Aston Martin was found to be out of technical compliance according to the RACB-supplied homologation sheet.

An annotated copy of the homologation sheet from the series’ technical department was produced with measurements from impound and presented during a hearing with the team representative, the manufacturer’s representative, the series’ technical manager and series’ chief scrutineer on Saturday.

“After consideration of all evidence and testimony presented at the hearing, the stewards have upheld the decision finding the No. 59 non-compliant, and order that it be moved to last classified car in Race 2 results,” a statement read.

The ruling is not subject to appeal by the team.

It has promoted the No. 47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport of Matt Travis and Jason Hart to the Pro-Am class win in Friday’s race, which was won overall by Conquest Racing West’s Michai Stephens and Colin Mullan.
