Brown Quickest in Practice 3 at Bathurst

Will Brown topped the time sheets as the first driver to dip below the 2:04s in the third practice session of the day for Sunday’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

Brown, in the No. 55 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, reeled off a 2:03.899 in the 40-minute session to edge out the No. 61 EBM Porsche 911 GT3 R of Laurin Heinrich by 0.250 seconds.

Raffaele Marciello’s No. 46 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO was third quickest, ahead of the No. 222 Scott Taylor Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo drive by Thomas Randal.

The 75 Express Mercedes-AMG completed the overall top-five in the hands of Jules Gounon.

Team KRC’s BMW was sixth quickest and best of the Bronze class cars, ahead of the No. 32 WRT BMW in seventh.

The No. 268 Team BRM Audi ended up eighth overall and quickest of the Pro-Am class, while the No. 911 Absolute Racing Porsche and No. 101 Q/Team MPC Audi completed the overall top-ten.

Anders Fjordbach survived a spin at the top of the mountain in his No. 86 High Class Racing Porsche early in the session, while Fabian Schiller also looped his No. 6 Tigani Motorsport Mercedes-AMG, also not making any contact with the walls.

A fourth and final practice session, which like Practice 2 is for FIA Bronze-rated drivers and Silver-rated rookies only, is scheduled for 4:40 p.m. local time (12:40 a.m. ET).
