Brendon Leitch has been added to Lamborghini squad Wall Racing’s lineup for next Feburary’s Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.

The New Zealander will join Tony D’Alberto, Grant Denyer and Adrian Deitz, effectively taking over the place of team owner David Wall from the team’s lineup for this year’s running of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season opener.

Leitch will be hoping to help the team defend its Silver Cup triumph from last year, as well as improve on the team’s 12th place overall as he joins the lineup for the distinctive white-and-red No. 93 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

“I can’t wait, the 12-Hour wasn’t a race that was in the planning for 2025 but it’s an opportunity I can’t wait to grab,” Leitch said.“Huge thanks to Adrian and the team for inviting me along.

“Racing at Bathurst for the first time this year was one of those moments I’ll remember forever, and it was one of the most fun weekends I’ve had, so to get back there and this time in the Lamborghini will be another great experience.

“To team up with Adrian, Tony and Grant is like joining up with a bunch of legends, I’ve been watching their racing for a long time!

“I’m a Lambo guy through and through and have been in their cars for four years, racing in Super Trofeo, Asian Le Mans, Michelin Le Mans Cup and elsewhere so I know the car really well.

“I hope I can help the team build their program and work with the guys from Lamborghini to really get the full potential out of the car for everyone.”

Leitch contested the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS this year driving a Melbourne Performance Centre-prepared Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, finishing sixth in the standings alongside Tim Miles.

The 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe champion also contested two IGTC rounds, the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and the Indianapolis 8 Hour, and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round at Indianapolis earlier this year.

Team owner Wall said: “It’s exciting to welcome Brendon to the team alongside Adrian, Tony and Grant. The aim is to defend our Silver class victory, but also target a higher outright finishing position as well. We think we have the pieces in place to do so.

“With Adrian, we’re working very hard on building our relationship with Lamborghini and showcasing what we can do with them and the car, so when the opportunity to put Brendon in the car came up it was too good to pass up

“He is an incredible talent and I don’t think there are many in the world who understand the Lamborghini GT3 platform better, which puts us in a really good position to get the most from the package next year.”
