Team WRT will return to the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour with a two-car BMW Pro effort as it seeks a first event win since 2018.
The Belgian squad will field a pair of BMW M4 GT3s for the opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, with driver lineups to be confirmed at a later date.
WRT took pole position for the event earlier this year with Sheldon van der Linde before going on to finish fifth with the No. 46 car piloted by Valentino Rossi, Maxime Martin and Raffaele Marciello.
The Vincent Vosse-led squad holds one previous win at Mount Panorama, dating back to 2018 when current BMW factory drivers Dries Vanthoor and Robin Frijns paired up with Stuart Leonard aboard an Audi R8 LMS GT3.
BMW, meanwhile, is still waiting for its first victory in the event since it became open to GT3 machinery, with its two previous 12-hour wins dating back to 2007 and 2010.
It has not been outlined whether or not BMW’s pair of cars will be run to EVO specification, although traditionally new or updated cars have not been eligible to compete at Bathurst as the event takes place before SRO Motorsport Group’s annual Balance of Performance test session.
