Leipert Motorsport pairing Brendon Leitch and Nicolas Stati completed a clean sweep of overall victories to close out the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season, while Adam Putera overhauled a three-point deficit in the overall drivers’ championship battle to take the title.
The No. 70 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, which joined the European grid as a guest entry for Stati and Leitch, broke through for back-to-back wins while Putera battled Oregon Team pairing Enzo Geraci and Josef Knopp for the title.
Geraci started Race 1 from pole position, but the No. 36 Lamborghini went too deep under braking for the first corner, crucially losing the race lead to the No. 6 Vincenzo Sospiri Racing machine driven by Putera’s co-driver Paul Levet.
Levet, himself not in contention for the title after missing the Nürburgring round, held off Geraci and outgoing champion Amaury Bonduel, also making a guest appearance, heading into the pitstop window.
Putera took over the No. 6 car from Levet and maintained the lead despite an undercut attempt from Bonduel, with Geraci handing over to Knopp.
Although Knopp emerged in second place after the stops, the Czech racer struggled to match Putera’s pace and then suffered a further setback after receiving a five-second penalty for contact with a backmarker.
Out front, Putera was ultimately unable to maintain his leading position to victory after he was overhauled by a charging Leitch, who manage to take the win despite a five-second penalty of his own.
However, as Leitch and Stati are a guest entry and therefore ineligible for points, Putera took the maximum amount of points and lept ahead of Putera in the standings as the latter finished seventh.
Bonduel and Andrea Fontana completed the overall podium, finishing third in the No. 57 BDR Competition Lamborghini.
In Pro-Am, Andrzej Lewandowski and Frederik Schandorff overcame early contact to take the class victory for ASR, while Massimo Ciglia and Pietro Perolini were victorious in the Am category.
The No. 8 Rexal Villorba Corse Lamborghini of Donovan and Luciano Privitelio was victorious in the LB Cup category, but second-placed Karim Ojjeh clinched the title with a race to spare.
Race 2 started with Leitch on overall pole, joined on the front row by Schandorff’s Pro-Am entered No. 3 Lamborghini.
Knopp started ninth with Putera behind him in 12th, although the No. 6 VSR machine gained the upper hand early on while Leitch maintained the lead before handing over to Stati.
The Australian controlled the remainder of the race to take a second consecutive victory, with the No. 9 Target Racing Lamborghini of Giacomo Pedrini and Patrik Fraboni finishing second ahead of the sister car piloted by Guido Luchetti.
The battle for the overall title, meanwhile, appeared to get a late twist when the No. 6 car received a five-second penalty for track limits infringements.
However, a seventh-placed finish for Levet and Putera was enough for the latter to be crowned champion, as they only finishedone spot behind Knopp and Geraci.
Schandorff and Lewandowski completed a sweep of Pro-Am class victories in a category that already had its title battle decided when Stephan Guerin and Georgi Dimitrov took the championship last time out at Barcelona.
The championship in Am, meanwhile, was decided by a single point as Ciglia and Perolini followed up their Thursday victory with second in Race 2.
This, in turn, was enough to deny class winners Stephane Tribaudini and Piergiacomo Randazzo the championship by just a single point.
In LB Cup, Ojjeh capped off his title-winning season with a second consecutive class win at the wheel of the No. 7 Rexal Villorba Corse Lamborghini.
