Thanks to the essential support of the Comunitat Valenciana and Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, SRO Motorsports Group has announced plans for the third edition of the FIA Motorsport Games to be staged in Spain, with Valencia accepting host duties.
Subject to FIA World Motor Sport Council approval, the event is set to run in late October 2024 on a non-clashing weekend with Formula 1.
The Generalitat regional minister for sport, Raquel Tamarit, has worked with Manuel Aviñó, president of the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, and Stéphane Ratel, founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, to secure Circuit Ricardo Tormo as the main venue.
Valencia is set to host the traditional opening ceremony, while racing activities will be centered around Circuit Ricardo Tormo, downtown Valencia, and other nearby venues.
The announcement follows the conclusion of the second Motorsport Games, which saw Marseille and Circuit Paul Ricard welcome 463 athletes representing 72 FIA National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.
Scheduled to take place in two years’ time, the announcement of a 2024 event establishes a biannual timetable for the Motorsport Games, with further news to be officially confirmed over the coming months.
