Nashville Street Course Replaces CTMP on Updated Schedule

Two street races as part of the Music City Grand Prix weekend in Nashville have been added to the schedule for GT America’s inaugural season next year.

SRO America’s new series for GT3, GT2 and GT4 cars will have a spot on the support bill for the NTT IndyCar Series’ first street race event in Tennessee’s capital city on Aug. 6-8.

Nashville replaces Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on the seven-round GT America schedule but it was mooted as a possible venue before the provisional calendar came out last month.

No reason has yet been given for CTMP dropping off the schedule. The Ontario circuit was due to host round three in May, while Nashville takes up the round four slot.

CTMP will still host GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, Pirelli GT4 America and TC America, however.

SRO America has a history of racing on street courses with GT4 America holding a regular place on the IndyCar Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Grand Prix bill.

The two GT America races in Nashville will run to the series’ standard 40-minute length.

Besides CTMP swapping out for Nashville, the rest of next year’s GT America schedule remains the same as what was announced in the provisional calendar reveal.

The new championship is aimed at amateur drivers and is a merger of SRO America’s Pirelli GT4 America Sprint and GT Sports Club America series that operated this year.
