Fletcher on Pole for Race 2 in Arlington

A last-lap flyer by Jeremy Fletcher has put the Copeland Motorsports driver on pole for the second Toyota GR Cup North America race of the weekend at Arlington.

Fletcher reeled off a best lap of 2:06.601 in his No. 22 Toyota GR86 Cup to edge out Race 1 winner Spike Kohlbecker by 0.058 seconds.

Beltre Curtis qualified third in the No. 5 Copeland Toyota, with Max Schweid and Parker DeLong completing the top-five.

Will Robusto, in the No. 2 RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate, will line up sixth, meanwhile.

Forecasted high winds, which has pushed up the start of the NTT IndyCar Series race on Sunday, will result in a shortened 30-minute Race 2 for GR Cup competitors.

It is still scheduled to get underway at 8 a.m. CST tomorrow with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on GRCup.com with commentary from DJ Clark and Jonathan Grace in the booth and Amanda Busick on pit lane.
