Spike Kohlbecker was quickest following a pair of practice sessions for Toyota GR Cup North America at the Grand Prix of Arlington.
Kohlbecker, in the No. 15 TechSport Toyota GR86 Cup, reeled off a chart-topping 2:07.026 lap time in Friday’s second practice session on the 2.73-mile 14-turn street circuit.
It was 0.047 seconds quicker than the No. 98 RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate entry of Max Schweid, who paced an interrupted opening practice session on Friday morning.
Schweid’s 2:08.031 that set the benchmark in first practice was eclipsed by the entire top ten in the early afternoon session.
Malbec Ramos made it two TechSport entries in the top-three, while Will Robusto was fourth in the No. 2 Speed Syndicate machine.
Copeland Motorsports’ Jeremy Fletcher completed the top-five, meanwhile.
While there was no red flag in the second session, a brief red brought Practice 1 to a stop in the opening ten minutes.
Qualifying for the first race of the weekend is set for 4:45 p.m. CT.
