Both of AF Corse’s Ferrari 296 GT3 entries will return to GT World Challenge America powered by AWS competition this weekend at Virginia International Raceway as part of an increased 16-car entry for Rounds 7 and 8 of the season.
The entry list confirms the Nos. 16 and 163 Ferraris, which were absent from the most recent round at Sebring International Raceway due to a clash with Ferrari Challenge North America.
Marcelo Hahn will be joined for the first time in GTWC America competition by his son, Christian, as co-driver in the Pro-Am entry.
Ozz Negri and Jay Schreibman will again pilot the No. 163 car, as one of two cars taking part in the Am class, alongside the Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang GT3, which will feature a new driver.
Former TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School champion Eric Powell will share driving duties of the No. 6 Mustang GT3 with Scott Dollahite.
It is the only other change in the entry list since Sebring, which saw FIA World Endurance Championship pilot Stefano Gattuso team up with Dollahite.
Negri and Schreibman, meanwhile, are tied for the Am class points lead with Dollahite entering the season’s midpoint.
Of note, the No. 2 Racers Edge Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo will not be taking part in GTWC America action this weekend, with Jason Bell shifting his focus back to GT America powered by AWS competition with the team and car.
Following their sweep of the weekend at Sebring, Random Vandals Racing’s Connor De Phillippi and Kenton Koch have opened up a 20-point lead in the Pro class over the JMF Motorsports duo of Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier.
Turner Motorsport’s Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley, meanwhile, head up the Pro-Am class, ten points ahead of the Regulator Racing pairing of Philip Ellis and Jeff Burton.
Track action kicks off on Thursday with a pair of test sessions, followed by practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday morning, followed by Race 1 at 3:15 p.m. EST, and Race 2 on Sunday at 2:45 p.m.
Qualifying and both 90-minute races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
