Shelby Blackstock and Trent Hindman have claimed overall pole positions for this weekend’s GT World Challenge America powered by AWS races at Sonoma Raceway.

Blackstock, in the lone Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo this weekend, reeled off a 1:38.608 lap time in the 15-minute session, outpacing the field by nearly a half second.

The No. 14 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of James Sofronas qualified second overall and took pole in the GT3 Pro-Am class, while Martin Fuentes is slated to roll off third on the grid in his No. 1 Squadra Corse Ferrari 488 GT3.

It came after a spin from a suspected mechanical issue for the TR3 Racing-run Ferrari, which returned to action in the second qualifying session.

Fred Poordad (Wright Motorsports) and George Kurtz (DXDT Racing), meanwhile, completed the top-five overall in Q1.

Q2 saw Blackstock’s co-driver Hindman improve by nearly 1.5 seconds, thanks to a 1:37.365 lap time in the No. 93 Acura.

It marked the GT3 Silver class paring’s fourth consecutive overall pole.

Colin Braun qualified second in the No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, followed by Jeroen Bleekemolen in the No. 14 GMG Porsche and Rodrigo Baptista, who was fourth overall and third in GT3 Pro-Am in the repaired Squadra Corse Ferrari.

Jeff Segal, meanwhile, completed the top-five in Q2.

The first race of the weekend is set for this afternoon at 1:45 p.m. PT/4:45 p.m. ET with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube page.
