The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R has received a pre-race weight break ahead of the start of this afternoon’s Indianapolis 8 Hour powered by AWS, with the Ferrari 296 GT3 also losing weight.

Confirmed in a Balance of Performance adjustment issued by SRO Motorsports Group on Saturday, the Chevrolet will be 10 kgs lighter for the Intercontinental GT Challenge and Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS finales at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

As a result, the pair of DXDT Racing-entered machines will weigh 1325 kg instead of 1335.

The change comes after the two cars qualified 15th and 22nd for their event debut, coming into the Indianapolis decider with an eight-race undefeated streak for Alec Udell and Tommy Milner.

The Ferrari, meanwhile, has been handed a similar weight reduction from 1315 to 1305 kg.

The Indianapolis 8 Hour powered by AWS starts at 12:15 p.m. EDT.
