Following a sweep of the weekend at Mid-Ohio in his team debut, Ryan Dalziel will complete the remainder of the Pirelli World Challenge season with EFFORT Racing.
The Scot, who took the No. 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R to back-to-back victories, was confirmed this week to also take part in the final doubleheader rounds at Sonoma Raceway (Aug. 23-24) and Miller Motorsports Park (Sept. 12-13).
“I guess I passed the audition!” Dalziel said with a laugh. “I’m super excited. It was big shoes to fill coming in after a really great weekend [in Toronto] from Nick Tandy.
“It’s not easy when you come into a new team mid-season but everybody at EFFORT Racing has made me feel like I’ve been here for years. It’s a great bunch of guys and I have a great teammate in Michael [Mills].
“I’m looking forward to the next two races. I’ve been to Sonoma before and have raced GTs a couple of times there. Michael and I will do our homework there like we did [at Mid-Ohio] and we’ll keep these Porsches up front.”
While the Sonoma round clashes with the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race at Virginia International Raceway, the Prototype class will not be in action that weekend, allowing the Extreme Speed Motorsports driver to take part in the weekend in California.
