James Davison will rejoin TRG for next month’s Pirelli World Challenge season-opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, in a bid for overall honors with the team’s Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3.
Davison, who has taken part in the last two PWC seasons with the Always Evolving/AIM Autosport Nissan squad, has been confirmed with the Kevin Buckler-led team for the opening round only.
“I am excited to be rejoining TRG and the Aston Martin brand after much success together the past three years,” he said.
“The Vantage GT3 promises to be strong on the St. Petersburg streets and we look to go one spot better than my 2nd place finish last year.
“It will be an exciting weekend for the team and all of its partners and sponsors.”
While campaigning a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Buckler will pull his Aston Martin out for duty in the highly anticipated event for the California-based team.
“We have brought out the big guns with both, the powerful Aston Martin Vantage 007 V-12 GT3 and of course our former team driver and Australian star, James Davison,” Buckler said.
“As usual we have an amazing weekend of wonderful entertainment options planned for all of our business executives and VIP guests.”
TRG’s PWC plans beyond St. Pete has not yet been announced.
AIM, meanwhile, is expected to announce a scaled-back customer-based program shortly, following Nissan North America’s reduced factory funding for this year.
