Part-time GT World Challenge America powered by AWS entrant and long-time club racing team Esses Racing will be ceasing operations at the end of the month.
The Buda, Texas-based squad, which had been a mainstay in series such as Radical Cup North America, and more recently GTWC America, will be closing its doors after six years of operations.
No official reason has been given, although team co-owner and team principal Dave O’Neill took up the role as Juncos Racing team principal last year, which he has largely been focused on since.
Will Hardeman, who was regularly the team’s Bronze-rated driver in GTWC America, also served as a co-owner.
“Over the past six years, we’ve had the privilege of supporting an incredible roster of drivers, technicians, partners, and fans,” a statement from Esses Racing read.
“From track days to championship battles, engine builds to friendships forged in the paddock, Team Esses Racing has always been more than just a team– it’s been a united group driven by shared goals and passion.
“We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of our journey. To our dedicated team, loyal customers, and the racing community — thank you for your trust, passion, and support. You’ve made this ride unforgettable.”
An auction will be held for the remainder of the team’s assets, although a date has not yet been disclosed.
The team’s most recent GTWC America outing came at Road America last year after taking part in limited-season campaigns in 2023 and 2024.
