Ayhancan Guven set the fastest time in the first of two Wednesday test sessions ahead of the Indianapolis 8 Hour.

The Intercontinental GT Challenge points leader steered the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R to a best lap of 1:22.925 during the 90-minute session at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

He outpaced the No. 31 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 in the hands of Sheldon van der Linde by 0.482 seconds, with Lucas Auer third aboard the No. 75 SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Brendon Leitch, piloting the No. 61 Earl Bamber Motorsport Porsche, slotted into fourth ahead of Wright Motorsports’ Elliott Skeer in fifth.

Skeer, who will share the No. 120 Porsche with Adam Adelson and Laurin Heinrich for Saturday’s eight-hour contest, defends a narrow points lead in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS Pro standings.

Toni Vilander took sixth for AF Corse, leading the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG in the hands of Mercedes-AMG factory driver Philip Ellis.

Three-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou, set for his first GT3 race since 2019 this weekend, picked up eighth behind the wheel of the No. 4 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG.

The overall top ten was completed by Nick Yelloly and Arjun Maini for Flying Lizard Motorsports and Triple Eight JMR, respectively.

Yelloly posted a 1:23.891 in the latter stages of the session, with the No. 8 BMW completing the fewest laps of any car in the top ten with 14.

The No. 33 Team WRT BMW and No. 130 GruppeM Racing Mercedes-AMG both did not post any laps after the two cars had a delayed arrival at Indianapolis Motor Speedway due to port strikes.

The second and final 90-minute session will kick off at 4:10 p.m. EDT.
