The pair of K-PAX Racing Bentley Continental GT3s were quickest in opening practice for this weekend’s Blancpain GT World Challenge America round at Virginia International Raceway.
The No. 9 Bentley of Alvaro Parente and Andy Soucek led the way with a best lap of 1:44.369, outpacing the sister Maxime Soulet and Rodrigo Baptista-co-driven entry by 0.162 seconds.
Dane Cameron, in his first outing in an Acura NSX GT3 Evo, was third quickest overall and the best of the Pro-Am class competitors in the No. 43 RealTime Racing entry.
Cameron’s 1:44.642 edged out defending SprintX champions R. Ferri Motorsport by 0.179 seconds, with the No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Colin Braun completing the top-five overall.
No major incidents were reported in the 60-minute session, which ran caution-free.
A second and final practice session is scheduled for 5 p.m. EDT.
RESULTS: Practice 1
