Patric Niederhauser kept Porsche atop the timesheets in Wednesday testing for the Indianapolis 8 Hour, leading the second and final session of the day for Herberth Motorsport.
The No. 10 Porsche 911 GT3 R set a time of 1:22.870 to lead a 1-2 for the Stuttgart brand, outpacing Earl Bamber Motorsport’s Brendon Leitch by 0.158 seconds.
Niederhauser’s time was also narrowly quicker than the 1:22.925 that GMG Racing driver Ayhancan Guven set to lead the morning session.
Toni Vilander slotted into third aboard the No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3, with Alex Fontana and Elliott Skeer completing the overall top five for Car Collection Motorsport and Wright Motorsports, respectively.
Guven picked up sixth in the No. 32 Porsche, ahead of Philip Ellis’ No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
BMW runners completed the remainder of the top ten in the form of John Capestro-Dubets, Dries Vanthoor and Bill Auberlen.
Three cars did not set a representative lap time during the session, with the No. 130 GruppeM Racing Mercedes-AMG completing going out but not setting a time.
The No. 33 Team WRT BMW, meanwhile, had not yet arrived at Indianapolis Motor Speedway by the time the second test session of the day got underway.
The No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 also did not take part in the session.
Track action for the Indianapolis 8 Hour continues with a paid Bronze test session, which kicks off Thursday at 4 p.m. EDT.
