Random Vandals Racing will scale back to a single BMW M4 GT3 EVO entry in GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, confirming an all-new lineup in the process.

The Paul Sparta-owned operation, which won the 2025 Pro class championship with Kenton Koch and Connor De Phillippi, is set to focus on a solo Pro-Am entry for Derek DeBoer and reigning Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America champion Hampus Ericsson.

“We have been talking to Hampus on and off for the last year, we know how quick and composed he is. We now finally have him one of our cars,” said Sparta.

“Similarly, I have raced Derek in the past and I know how adept he has become with GT3 machinery. So, we are going into the season squarely aimed at the Pro-Am Championship.”

Ericsson, who has previous experience with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, will be making his debut at the wheel of the BMW in his first full-season GT3 campaign.

“To be racing in the Random Vandals Racing BMW is truly something special since we’ve been in touch for over a year,” he said. “It truly feels like the right step in my career.

“I’ve only driven in America for one year, so there’s still lots to learn – new tracks, the American philosophy and the whole circus around each racing event.

“But so far, I love it! Lucky for me, I have an experienced and fast teammate in Derek and a proven championship-winning team in RVR, which makes this an incredible opportunity.”

DeBoer, meanwhile, returns to full-time SRO America competition after a partial season in the FIA World Endurance Championship at the wheel of Racing Spirit of Leman’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo in LMGT3.

“SRO is where my professional career took shape, and everything I’ve accomplished since – from ELMS to WEC and the 24 hours of Le Mans, it all traces back to the foundation I built here,” said DeBoer.

“Coming back feels right and like coming home. I’m energized by this new team, this new challenge, the opportunity and honestly, after racing against those BMWs for three years, I’m ready to see what Hampus and I can accomplish behind the wheel of one.”

Sportscar365 understands that a second targeted BMW GT3 entry, for Koch and his 2025 Pirelli GT4 America Silver class co-champion Kevin Boehm, failed to materialize.

The downsizing of the team’s GT3 activities, which also saw a second Pro class entry last year for Varun Choksey and BMW legend Bill Auberlen, comes amid its failed bid to enter the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro ranks this year.

However, it’s understood Random Vandals will continue to have a strong presence on the GT4 America grid, with further announcements to be made in the coming days.
