Sargent Quickest in First Sebring Practice

Tom Sargent leads way in GMG Porsche 911 GT3 R in opening Fanatec GT America practice…

Tom Sargent was quickest in the opening Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS practice session of the weekend at Sebring International Raceway, leading the way for GMG Racing and Porsche.

The Australian driver reeled off a chart-topping 2:00.127 in his No. 32 Porsche 911 GT3 R to edge out the No. 28 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Varun Choksey and Bill Auberlen by 0.173 seconds.

The No. 85 RS1 Porsche of Trent Hindman and Spencer Pumpelly was third quickest, while Elliott Skeer and Adam Adelson made it three Porsches in the top-four, in their No. 120 Wright Motorsports entry.

Robby Foley completed the top-five in the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW, meanwhile, followed by the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of George Kurtz and Colin Braun in sixth.

The Luca Mars and Zach Veach-driven No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 was seventh, followed by the No. 38 ST Racing BMW of Samantha Tan and Neil Verhagen in eighth.

The debuting No. 08 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Bryan Sellers and Scott Smithson was ninth, ahead of the sister, Regulator Racing-entered Mercedes-AMG in tenth with Philip Ellis and Jeff Burton at the wheel.

A second and final Fanatec GT America practice session is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. EDT.
