The entry for this weekend’s Fuji round of the GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS features has shrunk to 31 cars following the withdrawal of Elegant Racing Team.
A revised entry list published on Monday is missing the No. 30 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Alex Liu and Reinhold Renger that was part of last month’s initial 32-car reveal.
That is one of several changes in the latest entry for the fourth round of the season.
Martin Berry has dropped out of his planned outing for EBM to instead race in the clashing FIA World Endurance Championship fixture at Sao Paulo for Iron Lynx.
Berry’s place aboard the No. 8 Mercedes-AMG is taken by Andrew Bentley, who also deputized for the Australian in the second round of the season at Mandalika in May — which fell on the same weekend as Berry’s WEC debut at Spa.
Elsewhere, the TBA in Craft-Bamboo Racing’s No. 77 Mercedes-AMG alongside Liang Jiatong has been filled by team director Darryl O’Young, in what will mark the Hong Kong veteran’s first series start since 2019.
O’Young fills the seat previously occupied by Danial Frost in the No. 77 car.
The final change concerns Absolute Racing and its No. 321 Porsche 911 GT3 R, as Malaysia’s Nazim Azman replaces Li Xuanyu alongside Daniel Lu.
On-track running for the Fuji round begins on Thursday with a three-hour paid test ahead of official practice and Pre-Qualifying on Friday.
Qualifying proper follows on Saturday morning, with the first race taking place that day at 1 p.m. local time (12 a.m. EDT). The event concludes with a second race on Sunday at 11:40 a.m. (Saturday 10:40 p.m. EDT).
