The sole Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 in the Blancpain Sprint Series is now running under the American flag, as Always Evolving Motorsports has now expanded its program into Europe.
Molitor Racing Systems ran the No. 73 car until the Total 24 Hours of Spa, but is no longer involved in the series and instead focusing its engagement in the ADAC GT Masters.
Always Evolving will run the 2015-spec Nissan in the four remaining Blancpain GT Series races at Portimao, Nürburgring (Endurance), Misano and Zandvoort.
AIM Autosport will operate the Nissan, as is the case with AE’s two-car program in the Pirelli World Challenge, while JRM will continue to provide technical and logistical support in the Blancpain paddock.
Craig Dolby, Sean Walkinshaw and Martin Plowman (Endurance only) stay on as drivers and will finish the season they started with MRS.
“This collaboration allows Always Evolving to expand their program into Europe and already start working with the updated Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ahead of introducing this car into their 2016 programs in North America, with plans to run cars in Pirelli World Challenge and selected rounds in IMSA,” said JRM Partnership manager James Walters.
It’s unlikely other American teams will join AEM at the Blancpain season finale in Zandvoort, with no further details emerging about the previously announced invitations for the top-three PWC GT teams.
